It’s a known fact that aliens like Kimchi. All fermented foods are actually beloved by extra-terrestrials. Which is why ET hypnotized me to make him some Kimchi. I’ve been exclusively drawing and fermenting so far this week with a side of Korean cold noodles. Good combo. I picked up Sandor Ellix Katz’s Wild Fermentation book in Portland and can’t stop thinking about it. Just wait till you see what happens next!
Snack Mountain was created by Lauren Adolfsen in 2003 as multi-media art project including a claymation movie where food characters die bloody deaths. She got her MFA in Graphic Design at Yale in 2011 and then moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a freelance designer and illustrator. In April 2013, she was diagnosed with an unusually aggressive cervical cancer and is currently working hard to kick cancer in the butt!
